FINANCE LEADERSHIP ACROSS
ADITYA BIRLA GROUP
UPSCALIO
MYSTIFLY
CRAFTSVILLA
THINK9

Senior finance leadership for businesses that have outgrown a bookkeeper and aren’t yet ready for a full-time CFO. Delivered directly, or collaborating with accounting firms.
Management reporting and board packs
Monthly reporting that owners, boards and lenders actually read and trust.
Rolling forecasts and cash flow
Rolling cash forecasts are kept current, so decisions are made on live numbers.
Working capital and cash
Where consumer and retail businesses quietly lose cash. Receivables, payables, inventory and the cash conversion cycle.
Unit economics, pricing and margin
The analysis that shows which parts of the business are actually working and which are being carried.
FP&A and operating models
Driver-based models and budgets built to run the business, not to sit in a folder.
Cost and profitability
Structured cost-reduction and margin work. Across mandates this has run to 12 to 18 percent.
Fundraising and transaction readiness
Keeping the numbers, the model and the data room ready so the business is always ready for due diligence, audit or M&A transactions.
20+ M&A transactions and $200M+ raised across my career. Making sure the business is ready every time it matters.
UK QSR
Two UK quick-service restaurant businesses, on strategic and financial advisory. Building the CAPEX and OPEX plans, implementing reporting and cash discipline that multi-site food operations live or die by: site-level P&L, food and labour cost control, and the working capital rhythm of a business that pays daily and banks daily.
D2C roll-up (India)
Built the finance and operations function for a D2C aggregator from zero to a 40-person team, through the acquisition and integration of 13 brands. Raised $55M in equity and structured debt, and reduced cost of capital by around 10 percent.
Path to profitability (India)
Took a global B2B technology business to EBITDA break-even by rebuilding its revenue-management function, pricing and partner terms, while running finance across nine country entities and cutting the cost of the finance function itself in half through automation.
Fractional mandates (India)
Over the past year, fractional CFO work across startups and a PE-backed portfolio: fundraising readiness, unit economics, cash-runway planning and finance transformation, typically extending runway by 12 to 18 percent.

The CFO who gets called in for the hard problems. The cash crunch, the burgeoning cost line, M&A integration, the tricky audit, strengthening the weak finance systems, the long road to being investor or public-market ready.
Over twenty years I’ve raised more than $200M in capital, closed over twenty M&A transactions, and built finance functions for public-market readiness across retail, D2C, e-commerce and technology. I built and ran finance for TMRW, an Aditya Birla company, and held CFO roles at Upscalio, Mystifly and Craftsvilla. 2x Co-founder - Paper manufacturer & attempted VC fund. Consulting experience in India and the UK.
For the past year I’ve run an independent fractional CFO practice. I’ve now begun building that practice in the UK, starting with two quick-service restaurant businesses, and I’m expanding it with founders and growth businesses, and with accounting firms that want senior finance capability.
CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT (ICAI, 2004) · MBA, SAÏD BUSINESS SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD (2014)
I take on medium-scale business engagements needing CFO expertise to solve finance complexities. The person doing the work is the one who’s been in the CFO seat for twenty years.
Hours - I work across India and the UK hours. That means full overlap with a UK working day, and often faster turnaround.
Data and security - I work inside your systems rather than moving data around. Your Xero, your NetSuite, your SharePoint. Nothing leaves your environment, and the access controls, security certification and data agreements sit in place before any work starts.
Who does the work - I take on a small number of engagements at a time. There’s no team of juniors behind the name.
How it starts - Engagements start with scoping and followed with well defined processes and outcomes.
WHAT I DON’T DO
I don’t do bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, statutory accounts or audit. That work stays with the existing team.
